James Holmes, the 27-year-old who killed 12 people at a movie theater in Aurora, Colo. in 2012, was sentenced to life in prison without parole Friday.
Holmes had been eligible for the death penalty, but the 12 jurors could not unanimously agree to sentence him to death, The Associated Press reports.
