It may have opened behind Pitch Perfect 2 at the American box office, but Mad Max: Fury Road is off to a roaring start globally. And while the final accounting will no doubt be taken into consideration – it was not a cheap film to make by any stretch of the imagination or purse strings – director George Miller has taken his inaugural stab at social media to say that there will be more Max to come.
Hello Twitter! Thanks for all the kind words written and said about the film. We had a lot of fun making it..and there's more Max to come.

There had been hints before that Miller was hoping to make more movies – Max himself, Tom Hardy said in April that he’s contracted beyond Fury Road and, talking on The Q&A With Jeff Goldsmith, Miller confirmed that he has ideas for two sequels – one, called Mad Max: The Wasteland already has a screenplay and the other is in novella form, thanks largely to downtime provided by the long delays in making the first film.
So while Miller will first be taking a well-earned break after the incredible slog that was travelling the Fury Road, we can hopefully look forward to more of his madcap vision in the future, especially given the buzz about this iteration.
