Take a touch of Wizard Of Oz, a dash of J.M. Barrie and a glint of The Jetsons and you’ve got… ah, who are we kidding? Tomorrowland is probably nothing like any of those, although with what exactly it is remaining more under wraps than a kid’s Christmas presents, you can’t blame us for having a guess. The movie has some new character posters that shed approximately zero light on the situation, but do at least feature George Clooney channelling Viper in Top Gun. {Tomorrowland Posters} Alongside Clooney's struggling inventor Frank Walker here are his younger incarnation played by Thomas Robinson, Raffey Cassidy as the mysterious Athena and Britt Robertson as hero-of-the-piece Casey Newton. The latter is a kid looking for the answers that Walker may or may not be able to help him find. But probably will. But might not. {New Tomorrowland promo} According to its creative team - Brad Bird, Damon Lindelof and Jeff Jensen - Tomorrowland is a mysterious place that is being compared to the futuristic equivalent of a certain fantastical institution.
"What Hogwarts is to magic, Tomorrowland is to science: they are both easy to find if you are a wizard and very difficult to find if you’re a Muggle,” Lindelof told EW last year. “Walt Disney is not a character in our movie, but he is referenced as having some involvement in this mysterious place called Tomorrowland, as a huge futurist and aficionado of space travel, rocketry, cities of the future, and space travel.”
Tomorrowland, which also stars Judy Freer, Kathryn Hahn, Hugh Laurie and Pierce Gagnon, is set to arrive in the UK on May 22.
