The mid-aughts were a weird time at the Emmys. Well, not weird per se. Just different. The hits and stalwarts of the '90s and early '00s had all ended or were wrapping up ( The West Wing, Friends, Frasier, Everybody Loves Raymond, Sex and the City) and the onslaught of Peak TV wouldn't begin
