Lex Luthor Makes The Fortune 500

Lex Luthor Makes The Fortune 500

Jesse Eisenberg's archvillain finds fame

This year has been replete with ingenious marketing crossovers. Jurassic World's online theme park made Margaritaville a sunny reality before the pterodactyls got a tad overexcited and ate it, and now Batman V Superman is infiltrating the interwebs with an even more meta tie-in: A Fortune interview with its big bad.

Sticking with the gritty realism that DC's cinematic universe favours, LexCorp heir Luthor Jr. has been formally introduced to the public via Fortune's 500 CEOs list. Not bad for a character who doesn't hit our screens for another five months. And is fictional.

"Dad named the company after himself ten years before I made my unexpected entrance into his life," says Luthor, hinting at some soon-to-be-witnessed daddy issues. He may lavish guests and staff with “the complimentary LexCorp vegan food truck” (Lex is clearly destined to be pals with Eisenberg’s Facebook-founding Zuckerberg), but little Luthor’s motives seem less about animal welfare and more human warfare.

Those looking for info on Bats and Supes won’t find anything besides some Bruce-baiting (“I can't hold a candle to those guys in the debauched billionaire playboy department!” chuckles the entrepreneur) and not-too-subtle meteorite crystal chat, but this offers a quirky new angle on next spring’s clash of the superhero titans.

Batman V Superman flies into UK cinemas on March 25, 2016.
