Not that this should come as a huge surprise, but The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is totally eating up the foreign box office. It hasn't opened in the US quite yet, but The Battle of the Five Armies already opened in 38 foreign territories such as Japan, Russia, and Mexico. The film, which will probably be the final installation in Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy, and our final Jackson-led journey into Middle-earth, raked in $117.6 million over the weekend, $6.4 million of that being tickets to see the film in an IMAX theater.
