Matt Damon is in trouble once again for his comments, this time about sexuality and actors being openly gay in Hollywood.
In an interview with the Guardian, Damon seemed to suggest that gay actors are simply better off to stay in the closet after being asked if he thinks its harder for actors to be
Springfield's worst kept secret will soon be no more.
Waylon Smithers, longtime assistant to and admirer of Mr. Burns and owner of the world's largest Malibu Stacy collection, will at last come out as gay to his oblivious boss this season on The Simpsons, showrunner Al Jean tells TVLine.
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s third season picks up three months after the finale, which saw the Terrigen crystals enter the eco-system, Ward (Brett Dalton) take over Hydra, Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) get sucked into a Kree stone and so much more. So what does this mean for the members of
The recipe for the “cocky, troubled genius tries to reclaim his former glory” film is a tricky one to master – sprinkle in too much of one thing and it leaves a sour taste. John Wells is hoping he’s cracked the flavour for Burnt, which stars Bradley Cooper as a charming, arrogant chef. Check out the new trailer below.
Written by Steven Knight, Burnt finds Cooper as Adam Jones, who left high school at 16 and headed to Paris to learn the culinary arts. He was a quick study and something of a sensation. But all that sudden success went directly to his ego, and that, in turn, sent him down the path of excess, drinking, drugs and overall debauchery that ruined his reputation.
Now, though, he’s looking to rebuild and has his eye on opening his own restaurant in London, with hopes he can score those all important Michelin Guide stars. But can he stay out of his own way? Or will his bad boy side take him down again?
With Daniel Brühl’s mogul backing him and Sienna Miller’s talented cook just trying to survive in his kitchen, Jones doesn’t just have to deal with his addictive personality and the people he’s hurt, there’s also the small matter of the thugs he’s crossed in the past…Alicia Vikander, Uma Thurman, Lily James, Emma Thompson, Matthew Rhys, Omar Sy (but not Jamie Dornan – his minor role was cut from the movie during editing) are also in the cast, and Burnt is out in the States on October 23 and will be plated here on November 6.
''I promised the studio I would deliver one last trilogy...''
Given his commitment to being Chief Facebook Marketer for any of his films – and particularly the Fast & Furious franchise he sees as his baby, it was only natural that Vin Diesel would respond to a recent piece in The Hollywood Reporter about behind-the-scenes troubles in getting the eighth instalment of the series on the road.
Taking to Facebook, Diesel says that while the new film – announced by the star himself at CinemaCon this year – doesn’t yet have a confirmed director, he is working on that. “My producing partner Neal (Moritz) would love for me to just sign off on a director, but this is too special a franchise, so these matters have to be very carefully handled. To be clear, NO ONE has been offered to helm Fast 8 yet... let alone seen a script.” And he reiterates what he was saying while out promoting Fast & Furious 7, talking up a finally trilogy (as kicked off by that film) to finish the run. “Universal has been so good to me and so trusting of the vision... they have been like family... I promised the studio I would deliver one last Trilogy to end the saga. I will announce the directors on my next post...” Hhm… Directors? Sounds like he and the studio might be planning a back-to-back situation to knock out two more entries. Nothing has been confirmed, of course: it could simply be a slip of the keyboard. And there’s no denying that the Fast films are such big undertakings that corralling everyone together for that long could be tough. Still, as the man himself says, there will be more news soon.
Fast & Furious 8, meanwhile, is still scheduled to drive into our cinemas on April 14, 2017.
The conditions have been harsh, crewmembers have revolted and the tension has been palpable, but the imagery coming from Birdman director Alejandro G. Iñárritu latest, The Revenant, certainly are striking. Check out images featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy and more both above and below.
Adapted by Mark L. Smith from Michael Punke’s novel, The Revenant follows an ill-fated fur trapping expedition to chilly 1820s South Dakota. Hunter Hugh Glass (DiCaprio) is mauled by a bear in the harsh climate, and his companions leave him for dead. To add insult to injury, several men (Hardy, Will Poulter and Domhnall Gleeson) are assigned to bury what everyone assumes is his dead body. But the greedy scavengers decide to rob him and leave him helpless instead. Glass recovers, and swears bloody revenge...
Keeping things as real as possible, Iñárritu and ace cinematographer Emmanuel “Chivo” Lubezki have been shooting in natural light as much as they can. “And this takes place before the kerosene lantern was invented,” production designer Jack Fisk tells Yahoo. “We’d be scrambling at the end of the day to film the last few hours of daylight.” That’s not all – in a push for realism, DiCaprio ate real raw bison’s liver, something that his character uses to survive. “He had to eat the liver,” says Fisk. “I think he threw up afterward… he was so into it. It made me really appreciate the extent to which he’ll go to make things right.”
The Revenant will be out in the UK on January 15. You can see the trailer right here.
