New Batch Of Ant-Man Stills Arrive

New Batch Of Ant-Man Stills Arrive

Plus! A new t-antalising TV spot...

The latest issue of Empire is a superhero special, and the special superhero worthy of the front over is Marvel's Ant-Man - also known as Scott Lang, as played by Paul Rudd - and here he is again, on the internet, with a new TV spot and a selection of new stills to get you excited about the July 17 release.

For those not in the know, Michael Douglas’s scientist Hank Pym is the inventor of the suit that lets Scott Lang get tiny and run around a lot. Pym is the man who discovered the particles that let him shrink objects and people way, way, down. He recruits Scott for a heroic heist that will let them both save not their own world, but everyone else’s. And for Scott, whose criminal record is lengthening, it’s a chance for him to be the hero his daughter sees.

They’ll have to deal with Corey Stoll’s Darren Cross, who - as you've seen from both the clip above and the trailer - has his own plans for the tech with his more nefarious alter ego Yellowjacket. Also along for the ride are Evangeline Lilly, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Abby Ryder Fortson, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris, Gregg Turkington, T.I., and John Slattery, who returns as Howard Stark in flashbacks.

Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man hits UK screens on July 17, while our superhero special with exclusive on-set Ant-Man access is out on shelves now.

Agent Carter Gets A UK Release Date

Agent Carter Gets A UK Release Date

The first season of Hayley Atwell's Marvel show will air in July

agent carter uk release date

Inspired by the Marvel one-shot short film of the same name, the eight-episode Agent Carter TV show aired on American TV screens in January, but British fans of Hayley Atwell's secret agent - as originally seen in both standalone Captain America films, as well as more recently in Avengers: Age Of Ultron - were left in limbo as to when they'd get to see the first series. Now, news arrives that Fox UK has picked it up, and July 1 will be the release date.

For those not aware of how to access the Fox channel in Britain, here's a link with all the details, and for those not aware of the set-up of the eagerly anticipated show, here it is:

Marvel’s Agent Carter tracks secret agent Peggy Carter as she deals with post-war America and a life without Cap in 1946. Peacetime has not been the best time for Carter, marginalised by her colleagues and forced balance administrative work with much more important, stealthy duties at the Strategic Scientific Reserve, helping to build what will eventually become S.H.I.E.L.D.

Shea Whigham plays Roger Dooley, chief at the SSR and boss of agents Carter, Thompson (Chad Michael Murray) and Sousa (Enver Gjokaj). The cast also includes James D’Arcy as the original human butler Jarvis and Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, AKA Tony’s dad and a key part of the SSR.

For a taste of what British viewers can expect, here's a teaser clip (from last year):

And if all this is getting you excited for what the future holds for the much-loved character, remember this: a second season has already been commissioned by ABC, and what's more, Ms Atwell herself has been tweeting some very intriguing photos of late...

James Gunn Teases New Guardians Of The Galaxy Title

James Gunn Teases New Guardians Of The Galaxy Title

Sequel may not be just Guardians 2

Man completes draft of screenplay we already knew he was writing. Man tweets about it but reveals nothing. This is what the internet calls news. But buried in the non-story about James Gunn adding the final full stop to his Guardians Of The Galaxy sequel screenplay, is at least a hunt of something to come. It might not be called Guardians Of The Galaxy 2.

"#NotEventheTitle" says that hashtag. There isn't much room off the edge of that picture for anything to be hiding, but it could simply be a "2" or a "sequel" as a place-holder for what's to follow.

This "news" also, of course, strongly indicates that the film is progressing as planned. That means Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper and Groot will hit US cinemas again on schedule on May 5, 2017, with UK audiences enjoying a traditionally earlier glimpse on April 28.

Prison Break May Return For Limited Series

Prison Break May Return For Limited Series

Miller & Purcell in chokey again

First it was 24, then The X-Files, and now Fox are considering bringing back Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell for a Prison Break limited series.

Miller himself has been talking about this for a while, saying earlier this year that he'd "floated the idea" to the Murdoch Channel. Apparently it was a good pitch, since the show is now developing.

The original series ran from 2005-2009. The format on the cards for the revival is akin to 24 Live Another Day, in that it would be a complete story of a dozen or so episodes, rather than six months worth of open-ended escapism.

Without getting too spoilery, we'd have to assume given the state of play at the end of the line, that the new series would be a missing adventure plugging somewhere into the existing storyline. It can't really take place after the final episode. Not with those actors...

Fox aren't officially commenting, so there's nothing like a start date or air date so far. But we'll next see Miller and Purcell reteamed as, respectively, Captain Cold and Heatwave in the DC Arrow/Flash spin-off Legends Of Tomorrow. That one starts on the CW next year.

New Paper Towns Trailer Online

New Paper Towns Trailer Online

You have to get lost before you find yourself

We’ve already had one trailer for the latest adaptation of writer John Green’s work, which aims to duplicate the success of last year’s The Fault In Our Stars with a new blend of love and quirk. Check out the new promo for Paper Towns.

With a script adapted by Fault duo Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, Paper Towns follows Quentin (Nat Wolff) and his enigmatic neighbour Margo (Cara Delevingne), who loved mysteries so much she became one.

After taking him on an all-night adventure through their hometown, which includes getting revenge on her cheating ex, Margo suddenly disappears, leaving behind cryptic clues for Quentin to decipher. The search leads Quentin and his friends on an exhilarating adventure that is equal parts hilarious and moving. Ultimately, to track down Margo, Quentin must find a deeper understanding of true friendship – and true love.

This new trailer focuses a little more on Quentin’s nerdy mates and how they interact before Margot leaves her trail. With Austin Abrams, Caitlin Carver, Griffin Freeman, Cara Buono and Meg Crosbie also in the cast, Paper Towns hits US cinemas on July 24 before heading here on August 21.
