The Blunt Reason Cinderella Isn't A Musical

In Kenneth Branagh's Cinderella, there are many elements immediately reminiscent of the Walt Disney Animation film from 1950 – but there is one interesting difference between the two movies' genres: the live-action adaptation isn't a musical. While there is some singing in the feature, audiences won't be treated to new versions of "Bippity Boppity Boo" or "The Work Song (Cinderelly, Cinderelly)." And while there are certainly fans that are going to miss these songs, there's a fairly simple explanation for why they're not in the movie: screenwriter Chris Weitz simply couldn't work them into the aesthetic the production was going for. Having ...

Abbie may have traveled to the past in Sleepy Hollow 's recently concluded second season, but there may not be a future for her, either.

According to TV Line, executive producer Mark Goffman, who shepherded the series through its first and second seasons, is stepping down as showrunner ahead of a

Mission: Impossible 5 - What We Know So Far

Tom Cruise doesn't need your Marvel Cinematic Universes, your DC comics worlds, or your developing Ghostbusters galaxies. Ever since 1996, the Energizer bunny of action heroes has been suiting up as secret agent Ethan Hunt in his own super-powered action franchise, and he's about to show the challengers how to do it right when his fifth Mission: Impossible movie opens in theaters this summer. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to dig into all of the information that we currently have on Mission: Impossible 5... a sequel that lacks a proper subtitle, and hasn't shown an inch of footage, ...

Watch The Real Michael Bolton Hilariously Recreate Office Space Scenes

Mike Judge's Office Space isn't exactly a film that celebrates the career of singer Michael Bolton - actually going out of its way to call him a "no-talent ass clown" (one of my favorite cinematic insults) - but it's to Bolton's credit that he takes the jabs in stride. How do we know this? Because he actually agreed to recreate the key scenes in the film that mock his name. Above you'll find one of the latest videos to hit Funny or Die, and while it's not exactly going to surprise you in any major way, that doesn't stop it ...

Tim Burton Will Direct A Dumbo Movie, Get The Details

It would seem that the Walt Disney Company is very keen on the idea of bringing back some of their key animated classics as live-action films. Cinderella is hitting theaters this weekend, The Jungle Book is in post-production, Beauty and the Beast is very much in active development, and now word has come down that the company has enlisted an A-list director to helm the latest incarnation of Dumbo: Tim Burton. The Wall Street Journal is reporting the news that Disney is reteaming with the Big Eyes director to make a new big screen film about the elephant whose gigantic ...

Is Chris Pine Going To Be The Next Green Lantern?

With all the rumblings over at Warner Bros. as they attempt to get their stable of DC Comics cinematic superheroes in order, one major player has been seemingly left out of the loop in Green Lantern. However, should the latest rumor prove true, then it seems that the emerald bling-powered pursuer of justice could be coming back to the screen with a new leading man in Chris Pine. Could the film franchise that fell on its face just four years ago be able to resurrect itself to exist in the new DC Comics movie universe? It seems that an Instagram ...

That Controversial Star Wars Lightsaber Has Roots In Star Wars Canon

It could be the case that the newly-acknowledged Star Wars Expanded Universe canon may have just settled a tempestuous debate about a questionably designed weapon that has been raging ever since we got our first glimpse of the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It seems that a new Star Wars novel, which has been christened as canon by the new franchise owners in Disney, contains a passage in which Luke Skywalker disassembles a lightsaber and discovers something that is extremely germane to the controversial crossguard lightsaber wielded by Kylo Ren in the sequel film. Could the debate about ...
