The Role Julianne Moore Should Have Won An Oscar For, According To Julianne Moore

There are many (including this reporter) who think that Julianne Moore is long overdue for an Oscar win. As the 54-year-old actress revs up for another Academy Awards ceremony, where she's once again nominated for Best Actress, we can't help but look back at all the roles where she was robbed of the statuette. Though I'm sure we all have our picks as to the worst offense of this, Moore even has her own. She has been nominated for five Oscars: Boogie Nights, The End of the Affair, The Hours, Far from Heaven and this year for Still Alice. But ...

The Rating Ryan Reynolds Hopes Deadpool Gets From The MPAA

The task of getting the much-discussed solo project for Marvel's "Merc with a Mouth," Deadpool, off the ground has been long and arduous. However, its potential star, Ryan Reynolds hopes that there will be a gory, vulgar language-infused, possibly nudity-laced pot of gold at the end of this long developmental rainbow: Namely an R rating from the MPAA. Will the upcoming Deadpool film finally be the R rated comic book movie that breaks through the recalcitrance of PG-13-wishing studio bigwigs? Sitting down with Collider, Reynolds fielded the topic of all topics when it comes to potential future roles. (No, ...

How Seventh Son Compares To The Hunger Games And The Giver

Both Julianne Moore and Jeff Bridges have been involved with young-adult adaptations in the past. The Oscar-nominated (and, hopefully, soon-to-be Oscar-winning) actress plays President Coin in the Hunger Games franchise, while "The Dude" played the title role in The Giver. However, both were strongly rooted in the world of sci-fi, while their new joint film, Seventh Son, branches into the realm of hardcore fantasy. As the two celebs told me over an interview, however, there are some similarities in their approach. Seventh Son is based on the YA novel series The Spook's Apprentice, aka The Wardstone Chronicles, which sees a ...

Tyrese Gibson Unleashes Desert Eagle

Tyrese Gibson Unleashes Desert Eagle

Fast & Furious man takes on the cartels

A man on the up and up, Fast & Furious 7’s Tyrese Gibson, AKA Roman Pearce, is looking to lead the preposterously badass-sounding Desert Eagle into production. Universal have optioned the script, potentially lining up the actor-singer’s first star vehicle and a chance to show what he can do away from his F&F buddies.

And what he’ll do is go deep into the world of drug cartels. With all kinds of nasty narc business being run out of a casino on a Native American reservation, a pair of border patrol agents are sent in to investigate. Gibson, it can be safely assumed, will be playing one of the good guys in this equation rather than a villain or random croupier.

According to Deadline’s scoop, the project will springboard off a spec script written by Gibson himself and Mike Le, a VP at the actor’s Q Pictures marque. Matthew Stuecken and Josh Campbell (Bad Robot’s Valencia) are working on rewrites with Gibson and Le on exec-producer duties.

Next up for Gibson is a role alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in Antoine Fuqua’s Southpaw and a spot in Ride Along 2. Next up is the small matter of Fast & Furious 7 which lands in the UK on April 3. Head to our big Superbowl trailerpendium to feast your eyes on its latest spot.
