Iko Uwais And More Reportedly Part Of Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Iko Uwais And More Reportedly Part Of Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Raid 2 stars to lend fight cred

Iko-Uwais-Star-Wars-Force-Awakens

Though J.J. Abrams and the rest of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens team wrapped production in November, there is still plenty of work to be done on what is expected to be one of the biggest films of the year. Abrams has reportedly decided to add some particularly talented fight types, with The Raid 2’s Iko Uwais, Yayan Ruhian and Cecep Arif Rahman hired to work on clashes for the film.

Originally reported by Twitch Film and now confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, there are no details on which characters Uwais and his co-stars will be playing – or whether they’ll be just be providing stunt choreography for the movie – but given the jaw-dropping, skull-shattering scraps they brought to the screen for Raid man Gareth Evans, it looks like The Force Awakens will have fights to rival (or thrash) anything that has been seen in Star Wars before. We bet that Abrams won’t be adopting Evans' policy of crotch-punching behind-the-scenes banter with Uwais, though…

Set for a December 18 bow, Star Wars: The Force Awakens features Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, Lupita Nyong'o, Gwendoline Christie, Warwick Davis and Max Von Sydow.

7 Things Sony Has To Do To Save The Spider-Man Franchise

The Spider-Man film franchise is dealing with major problems right now. After the mixed reviews and lower-than-expected box office return of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Sony has been shifting their plans for the web-slinger's cinematic universe. Changes range from pushing Sinister Six to 2016 and The Amazing Spider-Man 3 to 2018, to even rumored contemplations of an Aunt May movie. The Sony email hacks have only further elaborated on the behind-the-scenes drama of the series, and if something isn't done soon, Spidey may end up suffering more in the movies. Whether you're a casual viewer or hardcore Spider-fan, this obviously isn't idea. It's been ...

Martin Scorsese's Silence Has Lost One Of Its Stars

Since 1991, Martin Scorsese has been trying to make his passion project Silence into a reality. Unfortunately for the project, but fortunately for the public, the delay between the film's original inception and its current summer shoot dates has been due to a ton of great films coming across the acclaimed director's desk. With the film as an active priority for Scorsese, and with a cast set to go, some would say this is the perfect time for another snag to occur. And looks like they're right, as Silence has lost a rather prestigious cast member. Deadline announced that Ken Watanabe ...
