Why Did CBS Alter This Golden Globe Nominee's DVD Art?

A good portion of the 2014 dramedy Pride - which was very recently nominated for Best Picture, Musical or Comedy Golden Globe - centers on the mid-1980s fight for equality for gays, lesbians, and transgenders in U.K., but that's not something you'd not necessarily get while reading about the film on its DVD case. As it turns out, CBS Film has actually edited out all references to homosexuality on the package, in both text and image form. This news was first reported by Pink News, which has noted strange differences between the CBS's marketing materials for director Matthew Warchus' ...

Wait, Amazing Spider-Man 3 Definitely Is Happening?

There's been an ongoing debate of whether or not The Amazing Spider-Man 3 is actually going to happen. Between talks of Marvel Studios taking over the character and potentially ditching Andrew Garfield as lead, and Sony struggling to revive the franchise after not performing as well as they hoped on The Amazing Spider-Man 2, there hasn't been a clear cut answer on what's happening with the film. That is until now. A recent casting call for extras proves that The Amazing Spider-Man 3 is definitely happening. Bill Beckman Casting just sent out a casting call looking for male and female extras of all ...

Marvel's Ant-Man Trailer Teaser Arrives In Human Size

The long-awaited Ant-Man trailer is scheduled to come out this coming Tuesday, but the other day, in a form we least expected, Marvel gave us a tease. They decided to tease the teaser by showing it in ant-sized form, leaving it up to the imagination (unless you have superhuman sight). But they must've felt bad for continuing to keep us on the edge of our seats, with our eyes so close to the screen, because they've now released a teaser of the trailer in the full, human-sized form. Check it out below. We finally get to see some full-sized images ...

The Long-Term Movie Attendance Graph Is Really, Really Depressing

This week the numbers for 2014 movie attendance came in, and they don't look so great. Less and less people are going out to the movies, and the number of moviegoers hit a record low this year in North America, the lowest it has been in two decades. But, unfortunately low attendance has become almost expected in our modern age. When you take a look at this long-term movie attendance graph it becomes all too clear. The graph shows a steady percentage below 10% of the U.S. population that averaged going to the movies weekly since around 1964. But before that point ...

3 Ways David Fincher's Spider-Man Movie Would Have Been Amazing

In the past 13 years, audiences have gotten five Spider-Man movies that took place in two different continuities. The first three the Sam Raimi films starring Tobey Maguire, and the last two the Marc Webb films starring Andrew Garfield. Both series have different tones (though perhaps not as different as some fans may want), so there's a lot of room for comparing how they handled certain events, made certain villains, represented the protagonist, etc. Of course, it's also fun to speculate on what might have been, and had things gone when either of the two series were being planned, we might ...

Kevin Smith's Daughter Had The Legal Power To Kick Him Off His Latest Comedy

As kids, we always dream that there will come a day when we can tell the adult figures in our lives what to do. Privacy, power, and sweets would all be laid out in front of us without any sort of barrier or filter. Nine times out of ten, it never happens, and we just end up waiting until we're adults to have our say in the things our parents used to govern over us. But in the case of Harley Quinn Smith, she's living the dream as her work on her father Kevin's latest film, Yoga Hosers, has given ...
