Han Solo Will Be Played By This Woman In Jason Reitman's Empire Strikes Back

Jason Reitman will be bringing Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back back to life in a live-reading that he plans to put on tonight. Yesterday Reitman released the names of a majority of his cast, but there were two casting announcements noticeably missing: the roles of Han Solo and Leia Organa. We finally, finally have the names of the two actors who will be reading for Han and Leia. While the actress reading for Leia--Jessica Alba--might not surprise you, the casting for Han certainly might. Juno star Ellen Page will be Leia's stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking Nerfherder, Han Solo. I'll admit, ...

Hero Blend #46 - What We Want To See From The Man Of Steel In Batman v Superman

Over the past year or so, news and updates about Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice have set up the 2016 blockbuster as a gateway to a larger DC Cinematic Universe, but there is another big responsibility that it carries. With the return of Henry Cavill's Superman, Amy Adams' Lois Lane, Lawrence Fishburne's Perry White and Diane Lane's Martha Kent, the film is very much expected to be a sequel to Man of Steel that further develops the Kryptonian superhero. But what exactly does and should that mean? Certainly one of the biggest controversies surrounding Man of Steel was ...

Now Paramount Is Refusing To Let Movie Theaters Show Team America: World Police

The fallout from the cancellation of Sony's The Interview continues, only this time there's a different studio reacting to the ongoing (and suddenly spreading) controversy by pulling yet another movie from theater screens. Paramount is blocking theaters from hosting screenings of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's Team America: World Police in place of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's The Interview, according to Tweets posted by the theaters. A handful of theaters across the country planned to substitute screenings of the Seth Rogen- and James Franco-led comedy with the overly patriotic puppet show. Well, the Capitol Theatre in Cleveland, Ohio informed ...

This Visionary Director Wants No Part Of Star Trek 3

Star Trek 3 is going through a heck of a time landing on a director. Even though a shortlist of filmmakers was only revealed earlier this week, one of the individuals has already publicly and gracefully declined the offer. Duncan Jones, who is most notable for directing the imaginative films Moon and Source Code, recently tweeted out this message regarding his feelings on directing Star Trek 3: Very flattering being on short list for Star Trek, but won't be doing it. Absolutely MUST make my own thing next, or I'll die of old age!— Duncan Jones (@ManMadeMoon) December 15, 2014 Well then. I guess ...

Why Crossbones Would Beat The Hell Out Of The Hulk

Frank Grillo isn't afraid of anything. Or anyone. Scheduling a Purge? Grillo's on board. Need him to fight Chris Evans until the two of them are covered in bruises? Where does Grillo sign up? Tussle with the incredible Hulk? Grillo's just chomping at the bit to take his shots at the green giant. In fact, in a fascinating profile between tough-guy Frank Grillo and EW.com (seriously, the whole column's an amazing read), the Captain America: The Winter Soldier baddie breaks down all of the reasons why he thinks his character, Crossbones, would win in a battle against Mark Ruffalo's ...

Why Downloading The Interview Right Now Is A Bad Idea

I can't pay to see The Interview on Christmas Day. That pisses me off, not because I was so pumped up about seeing The Interview but instead because it seems absurd that I no longer have the option. It's really upsetting, and based on the Internet reaction, there are a lot of other people who are upset too. All of that, coupled with a weird vaguely guilt free conscience many might feel since the film was shelved, will probably create the perfect storm for downloading in gigantic numbers. Unfortunately, it now looks like that's a bad idea. Not because of ...

How One Movie Theater Is Trolling North Korea

After the recent terrorist threat against the film The Interview came out of the Sony Hacking Scandal, many movie theater chains publicly announced that they would not show the movie. And as a result, Sony executives completely pulled the the film out of theaters. The responses towards this decision have been mixed, but one theater in particular decided to say "America, F Yeah" and troll North Korea by showing Team America: World Police instead. The Texas-based theater, Alamo Drafthouse had hoped to still play the controversial film, The Interview despite the hacking threats, but when Sony pulled the film completely, ...
