This 'Special Edition' Star Wars 7 Trailer Is A Big Middle Finger At George Lucas

1997 brought George Lucas' Star Wars: Special Editions to the big screen over the course of three months, with each film including a number of changes that Lucas felt brought the films closer to his original, but limited vision that he released in 1977. While the anticipation was positive, the end result wasn't exactly a product the fans could completely rally behind. In 2004, Lucas screwed the pooch even further with his second round of "Special Editions," which really pissed fans off. For you Star Wars fans that have been hankering for some laughs out of the trauma, this video below is for ...

Jim Carrey Came Really Close To Playing This Comic Book Villain

The comedic goofiness of Jim Carrey has brought life to some of the more strange and silly characters in cinema. We've even seen him put his spin on comic book characters such as Riddler in Joel Schumacher's Batman Forever, Stanley Ipkiss in The Mask and more recently as Colonel Stars and Stripes in Kick-Ass 2. But, arguably what could have been his greatest comic book villain role is left as a 'what if'. Carrey might have have played alien supercomputer, Brainiac, in the 1990s canceled movie Superman Lives. Carrey came pretty close too. If the movie had gone into production, he ...

Don't Like Black Storm Troopers? Here's John Boyega's Blunt Response

With the release of the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, there has been equal measures of joy and disdain flowing through the Star Wars fandom. There are some who eat up every single thing the franchise offers and others who checked out after Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. There's no way to please everyone, though some complaints are a whole lot more understandable than others. Lately, the biggest complaints have come from those annoyed that the series has its first black storm trooper in actor John Boyega. Luckily, not only has Boyega heard about this, he's ...

How Andy Serkis Helped Mark Ruffalo Crush His Hulk Performance

We've been exposed to some of the greatest performance capture roles in film history thanks to Andy Serkis. From Gollum to Caesar, Serkis' skill set goes well and far beyond just a typical voice artist. We recently heard his narration in the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer and are incredibly excited for his confirmed role in the film. But beyond our own excitement for the actor's progress, he is majorly respected in the film industry for his expertise. So it's no wonder Marvel asked for his help when filming Avengers: Age of Ultron. His advice for voice projection ...

Weekend Box Office: Mockingjay Soars Over Penguins and Horrible Bosses

Thanksgiving weekend saw two new sequels step up, but neither had anything on last weekend's number one which easily dominated the holiday. Penguins of Madagascar features some of the more popular characters from the franchise, but the spin-off only opened in second place with $25 million. Even adding in Ethe Wednesday and Thursdays from the holiday, its $36 million total hardly compares with the other three Madagascar films that each opened between $47 million and $63 million. Horrible Bosses 2 rolled in at fourth place with a weak $15 million, well below the $28 million opening its predecessor enjoyed in 2011. Its five day holiday total of $23 million ...

Why Jurassic World Chose That Mysterious Hybrid As Its Villain

The first trailer for Jurassic World was released to a fairly positive reception among Jurassic Park fans, but after learning of the film's "big bad", the question couldn't help but be asked: why a genetically mutated hybrid dinosaur? Do you mean to tell me that in the entire dinosaur population, there simply was not a dino big and scary enough to slake the thirst of today's moviegoers? Colin Trevorrow, the co-writer of the Jurassic World screenplay and the film's director seems to think so. Trevorrow spoke to the use of a "new" dinosaur--that rumored to be called the D-Rex-- in ...
